Going V I R A L!

This post is about to go VIRAL….Viral Rhinosinusitis (common cold), that is! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

Over the past week, I’ve been battling a pretty brutal cold, so I decided to put together a quick guide to help you bounce back as soon as possible! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

First of all, what exactly is Rhinosinusitis? Rhinosinusitis (sinus infection) is the inflammation of the sinuses and nasal cavity. This inflammation can lead to nasal congestion, headache, fever, fatigue, a sore throat and other common cold symptoms. ⁣⁣⁣

Depending upon the severity and duration of your symptoms, your provider will be able to determine whether this infection was caused by a virus or a bacteria. Why does this matter? It will determine how you will be treated. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

While taking an antibiotic ASAP might provide some peace of mind, it isn’t always the solution. In fact, it could even lead to some resistance in the future if you didn’t actually need it this time around. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

So if you can’t take an antibiotic, now what? What do you do if it’s a viral infection? Dispense an Rx of patience! We call this approach “watchful waiting.” ⁣⁣⁣

Here's an infographic to help you manage those pesky symptoms as you wait for your immune system to catch up!⁣⁣⁣

What are some of your favorite cold remedies? ”But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord” Jeremiah 30:17
